Theme: Responsible farming practices
Panchkhal Municipality’s economy is deeply rooted in agriculture. However, the growing reliance on chemical pesticides and unmanaged irrigation practices has led to environmental degradation—threatening not only the health of farmers and residents, but also the long-term vitality of the land itself.
In response, there is a growing need for more sustainable approaches to farming. Local farmers are seeking practical, innovative solutions that reduce dependence on harmful inputs while improving productivity and resilience. Practices such as organic farming and efficient water management offer pathways toward a more balanced and sustainable agricultural system.
This challenge creates an opportunity for collaboration—bringing together farmers, environmental experts, and policymakers to rethink current practices and co-develop solutions. By working collectively, Panchkhal can move toward an agricultural model that protects its environment while supporting the well-being and livelihoods of its community.
