MSIE Program

Master’s in Social Innovation & Entrepreneurship (MSIE)

A one-year, immersive graduate journey in partnership with Kathmandu University, designed for those ready to learn with communities and build pathways for change.

About MSIE Program

The Master’s in Social Innovation & Entrepreneurship (MSIE) reimagines higher education by stepping outside the four walls of a traditional lecture hall. This is a one-year, fully residential program that transforms the diverse landscapes of Nepal into a living laboratory for social change.

Rooted in the philosophy of “Community as Curriculum,” our students don’t just study society—they engage with it. You will learn to understand yourself, connect deeply with local realities, and develop the tools to innovate for the common good.

The MSIE Journey

The Geographical Journey

The MSIE program is structured across five trimesters, taking you through three distinct geographical and cultural regions of Nepal.
You will spend 10 weeks in each location, learning directly from the environment and the people:

Terai Trimester (Janakpur)

Plains, Culture & Industry

Immerse in the culturally rich Madhesh region. Focus on understanding diverse social systems, grassroots innovation, and industrial connectivity in the southern plains.

Pahad Trimester (Panchkhal)

Hills, Agriculture & Community Agency

Engage with middle-hill ecosystems. Learn about local governance, agricultural practices, and entrepreneurial mindsets in the heart of Nepal’s traditional villages.

Himal Trimester (Helambu)
